1731 Fine & Rare represents a new perspective on rum, bringing great taste from the past centuries directly to the glass. The Regional Blends and Single Origin Rums product lines include rums from Central America to the tip of the South American continent.
Each bottling offers a distinctive character that speaks volumes about its origin. The bottling is always in natural color, not chill-filtered and without sugar.
731 Fine & Rare Panama is an 8 year old rum made from molasses from Panama, a true sugar cane paradise.
The rum was distilled in a column still at the Varela Hermanos distillery, founded in 1908 in Herrera. The rum was aged 100% in a tropical climate, in American oak barrels that had previously contained bourbon.
The rum was bottled in the Netherlands, without cold filtration and without additives.
Nose: Tropical fruits, coconut, notes of sweet vanilla Palate: Robust, smooth and subtly sweet with hints of vanilla and caramel Finish: Warm finish with echoes of caramel and spice
The company 1731 Fine & Rare originates from the Netherlands. The name of the independent bottler is based on the year in which the British Royal Navy began offering its sailors half a pint of rum as part of their wages.
