POUNAMU wines come from a single vineyard in the unique Waihopai Valley, in Marlborough, New Zealand, owned by the independent family company Vinultra headed by the talented Evelyn Fraser, former Cloudy Bay winemaker.
The local climate is strongly influenced by the mighty Southern Alps, stopping the fierce sea winds. Characteristic of the area are hot days cooled at night by the ocean breeze.
The land is terraced, with stony, free-draining soils and exceptionally clean mountain water.

The grapes are grown on two terraces and three different locations in one vineyard. The fruits are collected by machine, only in the cool of the night, then they are pitted and lightly pressed in a pneumatic press.
The juice settles in the cold.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to bring out the varietal's natural aromas.

FEATURES:
Color: Straw yellow.
Aroma: Elegant and very fresh with a citrus note. The aroma is rich in tropical fruits, with pink grapefruit and ripe melon dominating.
Taste: Juicy and appetizing. Fresh and attractive. With notes of exotic fruits, and again dominant is pink grapefruit.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 9-11° C
FOOD PAIRING: Excellent wine as an aperitif. A pleasant combination with appetizers, Asian cuisine and dishes with white meat, fish, pasta, seafood and vegetables.
